Enamelling
on Copper

Sunday 14 January 2024

Bright & colourful or simple and minimal, the variety of looks you can achieve with enamel is Fabulous.

This is a fun workshop where you will complete many pieces that can be worn just as they are or be incorporated into your work later.

The enamelling process is fast and lots of fun!
And be warned... it is addictive!

This type of enamelling can be easily done at home, even if you don’t have a kiln.

What you will learn:

  • Preparing & cleaning the metal:
This is the most crucial step as enamel will crack or not stick at all if this is not done properly.

  • We’ll look at different ways to apply enamel to the metal
This step alone will take your work to the next level!

  • Learn to work with simple stencils
You can play with mine or they are quick and easy to make your own designs

  • I’ll show you how to fire with a simple torch which you can buy at the hardware store, which is great if you want to continue enamelling at home

  • You will also learn the fire in the studio kiln of course!

  • And finally we’ll look at finishing techniques to make your work look professional!
